Step 2: Set the target date, time, and timezone
Choose the event date, event time, and the timezone that owns the event schedule.
Step 3: Choose repeat and progress settings
Optionally repeat the countdown and set a progress start date for percentage tracking.
Step 4: Enable alerts
Test the sound, choose notification and vibration settings, and turn on wake lock where supported.
Step 5: Save, share, or export
Save countdowns in the browser, copy a share link, export a calendar file, or export saved countdowns as CSV.
How This Calculator Works
The Online Countdown converts the chosen event date, time, and timezone into a target timestamp, then compares that target with the current device time. The display is calculated from timestamps so it does not depend on simply subtracting one second from a counter on every render.
The progress bar uses the selected progress start date as the baseline. Business-day and weekend counts are calendar summaries for planning context, while the main countdown remains the exact time remaining to the target moment.
Saved countdowns and preferences use local browser storage. Share links encode the countdown details in the URL, and ICS export creates a calendar event file that can be imported into calendar apps.
