How to Use This Calculator
Use this page as a calculator salariu, calculator salariu net, or calculator salariu brut net for Romanian employment income. Enter salariu brut first, then set the 2026 period, deductions, dependents, benefits, and exemption assumptions.
The result separates employee take-home pay from employer cost so salary negotiations, payroll checks, and offer comparisons do not mix salariu net with cost angajator.
Step 1: Enter salariu brut
Start with monthly or annual gross salary before CAS, CASS, income tax, and payroll deductions.
Step 2: Choose the 2026 period basis
Select January-June 2026 or July-December 2026 so the minimum-wage and non-taxable facility assumptions match the period you are estimating.
Step 3: Set deductions and family inputs
Add dependents, eligible children in school, and any monthly post-tax deductions that affect take-home cash.
Step 4: Add benefits and exemptions only when known
Use taxable benefits for non-cash payroll benefits and use exemption toggles only when your Romanian payroll case really qualifies.
Step 5: Review salariu net and employer cost
Compare monthly net salary, annual net salary, CAS, CASS, impozit pe venit, CAM, and the month-by-month payroll trace.
How the Romania Salary Estimate Works
The calculator simulates 12 payroll months. It applies the selected 2026 minimum-wage basis to the personal deduction threshold and to the optional minimum-wage facility, then calculates CAS, CASS, income tax, net cash salary, CAM, and employer cost.
| Step | Formula | Calculator treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Gross payroll income | Gross cash salary + taxable benefits | Taxable benefits affect payroll bases but are not added to cash net pay. |
| Minimum-wage facility | Contribution base = gross payroll income - eligible non-taxable amount | Auto mode applies 300 RON in H1 or 200 RON in H2 when selected conditions are met. |
| CAS | 25% x contribution base | Employee pension contribution. |
| CASS | 10% x contribution base | Employee health contribution. |
| Personal deduction | Minimum wage x Cod Fiscal percentage table | Eligibility phases down above minimum wage and stops after minimum wage plus 2,000 RON. |
| Income tax | 10% x (base - CAS - CASS - personal deduction - child deduction) | Set to zero only when income-tax exempt mode is selected. |
| Net salary | Gross cash - CAS - CASS - income tax - post-tax deductions | Shown as monthly net salary and annual net salary. |
| Employer cost | Gross cash salary + 2.25% CAM | Taxable benefit cost is listed separately. |
Annual bonus is modeled in December. If you enter a bonus, the average monthly net salary and the December net salary can differ.

Built for Romania Salary Search Intent
Romanian payroll searches usually use local terms: calculator salariu, calculator salariu net, calculator salariu brut net, CAS, CASS, impozit pe venit, deducere personala, and cost angajator. This calculator keeps those terms visible while explaining the calculation in English for cross-border hiring, relocation, and offer comparison.
The model is for employee salary planning. It is not a PFA calculator and it does not model dividend, micro-company, rental, royalty, or self-employment contribution rules.

Why the 2026 Period Switch Matters
A Romania calculator salariu net for 2026 needs a period switch because the minimum wage changes on 1 July 2026. That minimum wage value feeds the personal deduction band and the minimum-wage non-taxable facility. A minimum-wage salary in January can therefore have different payroll math from a minimum-wage salary in July.
The calculator does not silently blend the two periods. It shows the selected basis in the assumptions table so the estimate is clear when users compare salariu brut net offers across the year.
Limits of This Calculator Salariu Brut Net
| Area | Why it matters | Best check |
|---|---|---|
| Employment model | The page models standard Romanian employment income. | Use separate tax support for PFA, dividends, micro-company income, royalties, or civil contracts. |
| Minimum-wage facility | Eligibility can depend on contract facts and payroll declarations. | The calculator uses a clear auto/off switch, but payroll should confirm eligibility. |
| Benefits | Meal tickets, car benefits, private insurance, and other benefits can have special treatment. | Enter only taxable benefit value you want included in payroll bases. |
| Rounding and payroll timing | Actual payslips can round line items and bonuses differently. | Compare the estimate with employer payroll records for exact settlement. |
| Exemptions | Income-tax or contribution exemptions are not universal. | Turn on exemption modes only when the employee has a verified legal basis. |
